The small berber village of Tamezret (Ath Mizret) is situated 10 miles West of the world famous town of Matmata, known as a back-drop for the Star Wars movies, conveniently located along the road from Gabès to Douz, the doorway to the Sahara at the northern end of the Jebel Dahar.
Nobody knows exactly when this village was established by the Berbers. Old constructions; hidden, man made, millenia old caves and abandoned oil-presses; narrow passageways, lined with old olive-wood doors; A medieval scenery.

In the midst of the idyllic settings is the Bed and Breakfast "L'Auberge": an inner court surrounded by massive stone walls, 3 guest-rooms, a subterranean dining room, a sun-flooded terrace with a stunning view of the Grand Erg.
